Facebook. Email. Blogging. Texting. I spend my life being in contact with people. That's great. I love it. But when is enough, enough. How much is too much?
Considering I love all these forms of communication, surprisingly I am actually quite a private person. I'm not really one for sharing everything!
Over the past week I have heard a couple of reports on TV and seen in a couple of newspapers reviews on Facebook, which is currently taking over the world. It was describing it like an online Big Brother - everything being seen by anyone who accesses it.
It has started to bother me. There are security settings and privacy settings - levels that I can set. But surely I can only control this to a certain extent.
While I consider myself and my feelings, I have deactivated my Facebook account. Here's to a few weeks of anonymity.
It was one of those snowfalls you'll never forget. Millions of white snowflakes filled the air. The boy stood by the door. A stranger to snow. His eyes were blank. Unaware. His body clueless. The moment arrived. He stepped outside. Wonder filled the air.

KAOS ended...the frizz has been eradicated!
Whoa!
What a day.....I am physically exhausted. I ache EVERYWHERE. I am covered in bruises......But God was truly in that place. And I suppose it proves I wasn't just sitting around all weekend.
God did some amazing stuff over the weekend, and I'm not just talking about with the children. I had dreads in my mind, about specific stuff that I knew I was going to find challenging. Did any amount of praying take that away? Of course not - God had better ideas. Instead He equipped me in ways I could never have imagined. Words I didn't know I had and patience (and tolerance) I still doubt came to me in bucket loads!
God was and is good.
Other memories?
Jumping in before Ollie pushed me.
Capzision (think it makes capsizing a Canadian canoe sound as painful as my bruises)
See-through shorts and pink bra (not mine).
4am seeking out strangers asleep in the middle of a field.
Boys using straighteners.
Karen.
Rolling down a hill behind a mountain board while my feet were still attached.
Dripping wet from rain and not caring.
Getting changed more times in one day than an academy awards presenter.
I wouldn't change a moment. Thank you God.

God(ly play) is at work in us.
Godly Play. Great idea. Little scary. Props, thoughts, feelings. That's pretty much Godly play explained.
Used it today to tell my final 'faith story' for Christianity in RE, David and Goliath....and it was BRILLIANT!
Meant to be done in small groups....I did it wth 29. But the children responded SO well, now know the story but had the opportunity to think while they listened.
Bring on KAO and Zaccheus!

'She loves herself' !
In yesterday morning's meeting, Keith mentioned us, our opinion of ourselves and the fact that, being made by God, however wonky our smile is, however crooked our nose is, whatever there is that we dislike about ourselves, we should simply love ourselves, before we are truly able to love anyone else.
It reminded me of a conversation I heard a few years ago, an acquaintance (who was single), when asked if she would be happier if she had a partner said, "If I can't be happy with myself, how will I ever be happy with someone else?" I guess to a certain extent, that's true. We can't have someone else to make us accept ourselves. Someone else loving us doesn't necessarily mean we are able to love ourselves.
Last night, while checking out 'facebook' (not a habit I'm going to get into!) I saw an old friend from Sixth Form, had left rhe following quote on his site:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, which frightens us most. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?" Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Hmmm, an interesting quote, I have 'bolded' (?!) the bits that initally stood out to me, though the more I read it, other sentences stand out instead!
Maybe I need to stop focusing on what I'm not and focus on what I am - what God made me to be.
